Class Styles

Classical Ballet:

Baby Ballerina Ballet

Ages 2-3yrs.

An introduction to ballet for the very young student. Class is taken with mummy in the room and covers basic ballet steps as well as imaginative dance play.

 

 

Kinda Ballet

Ages 3-5yrs.

A fun and enjoyable class which combines the basic techniques for Ballet with dance/play activities, these classes aim at improving each child’s co-ordination, gross motor skills, musicality, artistic expression and self confidence.  

 

Pre Primary & Primary Ballet

Ages 5-8yrs. 

Aimed at school aged students this level focuses on mastering the basic steps and technique in a more formal setting preparing the students for examination classes in the future. Students are required to attend one lesson per week.

 



​R.A.D Grades 1 - 8 Examination Ballet
Ages 7yrs+.

Formal ballet training conducted through the Royal Academy of Dance training syllabus (www.rad.org.au). R.A.D offers a range of internationally recognised examinations and assessments designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages while achieving a high level of technical ability. Students are required to attend a minimum of two ballet classes a week to meet required standards.



 

R.A.D Vocational Ballet

Inter Foundation to Advanced  2
Ages 11yrs+.

Advanced ballet training and examinations conducted through the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus (www.rad.org.au) specifically designed for the more serious and dedicated ballet student. Levels include pointe training for girls and students must attend a minimum of three ballet classes a week to meet required standards.



 

Pre-Teen & ​Teen Ballet

 Ages 10yrs+

An Beginner to Intermediate level class aimed at older children wishing to start ballet or continue their training in a more relaxed environment. Classes can include formal ballet technique as well as lyrical or neo-classical style ballet.

2023 Class Timetable

Jazz:

Ages 3yrs+

An upbeat and energetic class conducted to current chart music covering up to date dance steps and also includes warm-up and stretch, body isolations, and jazz technique such as turns, jumps and kicks. Classes are conducted under the A.T.O.D (Australian Teachers of Dance - www.atod.net.au) syllabus and examination classes for students aged 6yrs+ are also available.

 

Tap:

Ages 3yrs+

A fun and enjoyable class focusing on different rhythms with the beating of the feet. As seen in Broadway musicals Tap Dancing includes a broad range of different techniques and steps covered from beginner to advanced level.

 

Jazz and Tap classes are available to all students and generally run after a ballet class for the same age group. Kinda and Pre-Primary/Primary Jazz and Tap classes are combined to give the younger students a chance to try these fantastic styles while keeping class time to a minimum.
